DAY 11 - J

Now, you would think that I would dedicate this post to my daughter, Jordyn, or even myself, Jessica, being that today is the letter J. But I’ve decided not to do the expected and instead dedicate this post to the famous hip-hop song of 1992, Jump By Kris Kross.

OK, this post still has a little bit to do with my daughter, but the reason I chose this song was because today was music class for her and she is learning to jump. She loves to jump all around the house and her favourite thing to do right now is jump on the bed or on the couch. So, when we went to music class today the music teacher played that 1992 song, Jump by Kris Kross, and Jordyn had a blast jumping all over the mats and barely getting her feet off the ground! How funny is it to watch a toddler try and jump with all the their might and their whole entire body, but their feet barely leave the ground? It’s just too cute for words!

We have also converted her crib into a toddler bed by taking one of the sides down and putting up a little toddler rail so she doesn’t fall out. I am not sure if this is a mistake to do it so early, but she thoroughly enjoys it, especially if she can get up and get her favourite book-of-the-moment and take it back to her crib and read it all by herself. This has slightly hindered her ability to jump all over her crib mattress and in doing so it has increased my anxiety of her carelessly jumping from the crib onto the floor. The struggle is real! I can still just try turning the crib around and have the opening face the wall if she’s not quite ready. I think I just might do that. We shall see!

How old were your kids when you changed from crib to toddler bed? I get mixed advice so I’m just going with the flow.

Below is a picture of Jordyn and her new bed. The novelty of her climbing in then climbing out, climbing in and climbing out has not worn off just yet.

Also, you can listen to the Kriss Kross song here . Enjoy!! Brings ya back!
