Just a bit about me!

Hi! I'm Jessica Wageman (hence the title of my blog 'Wagemadness'). In a nutshell, I am a passionate human with a wild love for language, culture, food and now mommyhood.

How did this come about?

Well, I lived in Mexico for a short time, teaching ESL and that got my tastebuds dancing! So, after wanting more, I moved to Vietnam for nearly 6 years.

Asia has always been a magical & mysterious place for me and I am addicted! Although, it's not just Asia, any place with a unique way of life, different ideologies, languages, social and economic structures (I don't want to get too political), all the way to people and their shared appreciations for the 'small things in life.'

The flavours of this world and its people are to be shared and understood. Travelling and immersing myself into different cultures has helped me realize that and as humans, we are fascinating creatures! How can we not want to explore more? I can strongly say (as many have) that once you have the travel bug, your cravings are so strong to experience new things - and that's why I call it my addiction.

And now that I am a new mom to our bouncing baby Jordyn, my life has changed in a way that's more grounded. We have started to set up our roots on Vancouver Island, Canada and exploring our own backyard. Sometimes the more you look out, the less you see in. So, why not focus our travel bugs right here at home!

Why 'Wagemadness'?

Well, being part of the Wageman family, we are ever-extending with wee ones creating a good brood of fun and the madness that ensues, and has been bestowed onto us just makes for great blog posts!

Note: 'madness' is not a negative aspect. It's just my way of describing the fun, exciting, crazy, chaotic and oh-so-right life that we live.

I have come to realize that Cory, and I (and now Jordyn) are a team that cannot be stopped and everything that we've wanted (in moderation!) has had a way of manifesting itself; from building a new home, to trips around the world, our dream wedding in Vietnam, graduating university and to creating our own family together!

Anyway, enough is enough! I hope that you guys enjoy my rants, ideas and experiences. As a creative outlet, I look forward to endulging in the world of blogging!
