Insta-what?!

DAY 9 - I
Instagram is one of my favourite modes of social media. It's visually fun, eye-catching, inspiring and lacks all the ads, articles and junk that I find Facebook has. It's a video/photo-sharing platform where you can share videos/photos in the digital social world. They have fun filters and it stays organized with tags and location information.
When I am on Facebook I am constantly scrolling down, skip, skip, skip, blah, blah, blah until I reach someone's photos or an article I am actually interested in. I mean, I do like Facebook for its groups and event-type posts for what's happening in the community or with friends, but between all of that is mostly just fluff! Instagram, however, is tailored to me, my friends, my influencers and things that are interesting TO ME.
Who do you follow?
I tend to follow interior designers, fellow moms and mom bloggers, local baby/kid brands, family lifestyle bloggers, travellers, foodies, moms that have fun food ideas for picky kids and DIYers, and my friends and family, of course!
What's with the hashtags?
Hashtags are a fun way to stay organized, find people with similar interests, let people find you who have similar interests and to get your photos out there. For example, if you hashtag your wedding as #wegotwed2018 and tell all your friends to put that tag on their photos too, then when you click on that tag it will take you to a gallery with all the photos taken at your wedding (presuming that no-one else has that tag, otherwise you will see those photos too). Also, you can follow tags on Instagram. For example, I follow the tag #blw (baby-led weaning), so on my feed, I will see everyone who also tagged their photo with #blw and I can get some food ideas for my toddler. Does that all make sense? I hope it does.
Insta-stories?
I post on Insta-stories almost every day. These are little 15-second videos that disappear in 24-hours. Basically, they are photos and/or videos of what I am doing at that moment, things I want to share, like products or just fun and silly moments. I don't necessarily need to post on the feed and spam everyone, so this is a good way to share, but not overshare. It's kind of like Snapchat.
