Day 5 - E
I think I should change the theme of this Blogging Challenge to Jordyn because these blogs and my life basically revolve around her...lol!
Today, E is for Excitement. Living through the eyes of a child is one of the best parts of being a parent. Amirite?! I've heard that from many parents and now that we have a toddler, I believe it. The smallest parts of the day, when you don't have a big activity planned, when you're just bummin' around the house on a rainy day, are when the most exciting moments happen.
Like I said, today was a rainy day and we were homebound as hubs took the vehicle to do some errands. So after Jordyn woke from her nap, I put her rain gear on and outside we went. As a toddler does, she goes straight for the dirt in the flower beds (basically mud)...and eats it! *facepalm* Oh, and the worms were out...take a guess...!! Ha! I caught her just in time before that thing touched her lips. Fewf! Probably good for the immune system though, right?! Not on my watch. I am okay with mud and puddle water, but worms? Nope! She was pretty happy to be puttering around in the brisk wetness. What's better than eating weird things is stomping in puddles and sitting on the curb watching the water run down to the drain. Oh, to be a kid again...
She was basically soaked by the time she came back in and freezing, so I stripped her down and ran her a nice toasty bubble bath. Mmmm, maybe I'll pour myself one after writing this blog! Nothing beats a bath in my books and I think she takes after her mum in that way. Some of her chattiest moments are when she's lying on her back getting her hair washed. You have to admit, getting your hair washed feels so amazing. Can you hire permanent hair-washers? I guess you probably could if you had the money. I used to get my hair washed every other day at the salon on my lunch break when I lived in Vietnam. It was so cheap! Those were the days. Anyway, I digress.
Below are some photos of the day (curbside and tubside) of an excited little sweetie. Let's view the world like a kid every once in a while and feel their joy in the small things.
